It's not too early to start thinkng about our SENIOR GRADUATION PARTY!!
Colleen Shurtz and her committee are looking for volunteers for the senior graduation party May 28, 2010 and are starting to meet and plan now. They need help that night and/or help earlier.
The time committment ranges from a little bit-- to as much as you are willing-- so this can fit everyones schedule. They need committee chairman and committee members. Things like volunteers that night-- manning booths, decorating, to phone calling or picking up food items etc., earlier.
Many hands make light work and you don't have to have a senior to be involved either! So please call Colleen at 801 224-6336. This will be a very fun memory for our students.

It's not too late to join PTA! We appreciate all the support and would love to have some more! Our memberships continue to go down a little every year, we need to keep them up and also get our Latino population involved! The dues are 6.00 a person, this supports many wonderful things here at the school. You can make that payment in the financial office. If your student also joins they will be enter in the drawing as well. PTSA members will also be eligble to leave early for lunch once a month.

Utah Family Month
The Mission Statement for the PTSA Family Life Commission is "to strengthen the home and improve the quality of life for all Utah children". The coalition for Utah Families organized "Utah Family Month" in 1972 to be in the month of November. The week of Thanksgiving is traditionally National Family Week.
MVHS also has a plan to support families in our school community. We hope that you will join the offered activities to strengthen your family. The Family Activities this year are:


Family Fun Run
Saturday, November 7th
9:00 Registration, Warm up, Meet Make-A-Wish child
10:00 Run Begins
Orem Elementary (400 West 400 South)
This 5k or 1 Mile event will raise money for the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation and bring families together for healthy exercise. Help us grant a wish by registering and participating in this event.
All Family Members Welcome (strollers, etc. accepted) Registration is $5.00/person on or before October 29th. This includes a T-shirt. After this date the cost is $7.00 and does not include a T-shirt. Please return the registration form with payment to the Financial Office. Checks can be made out to MVHS. Contributions may be made in addition to the registration fee.
There will be prizes as well as healthy snacks served. You will also be able to meet the Make-A-Wish child and run with your principal. If you have any questions, please call 801-229-2237.
